The art of painting pewter is a centuries old tradition in Germany. Each piece is handmade and cast individually from molds carefully engraved in slabs of slate. After casting, each piece is hand painted by individual artists. There is no mechanical process involved in creating these lovely pieces.
 
The photos are of the front side and back side of the piece. The detail and colors are exquisite. Decorating with these pewter pieces is a long-standing tradition in Germany.
 
The beautiful angel has a blue dress with white details. She is feeding the birds at a feeding station that includes little baked goods for the birds.
