Even though we are a month past the solstice, it's still quite cold. In fact, here in New Mexico, it was 5 degrees this morning. As you can see our little bird fountain has turned into an ice sculpture.

Yet our backyard is full of birds eating, calling and flying about.

So here is our reminder to be sure to keep your backyard birds fed. Put out water too---a small shallow pan filled daily with fresh water will be to their liking. And if you are able to provide some shelter that will help too. It's cold out there.
